Dr. Monika Govoni, DDS
General and Cosmetic Dentist
Dr. Monika Govoni grew up in a little town called Jaslo in Poland. After her high school graduation in 1995, she and her family moved to Chicago. Dr. Govoni attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she studied biological sciences. During her college years she worked as a dental assistant which inspired her to take on dentistry as a career path. She earned her DDS degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, where she also met her future husband Dr. Robert Govoni.
After their dental school graduation, Dr. Monika and her husband relocated to Milwaukee, WI where he continued on with his studies to specialize in pediatric dentistry and Dr. Monika worked as a general dentist in a group practice in Wauwatosa, WI. Although they both enjoyed their stay in “the dairy country”, they missed their family, friends and “the windy city”. After her husband finished his residency program, they moved back to Chicago and settled in the East Village area.
Both working as associate dentists at Chicago and suburban practices, they decided to open a place of their own, combining both of their dental specialties to create a unique dental experience for kids, adults and whole families. Here - at Brushin’on Belmont, Dr. Monika and Dr. Robert’s vision is to help create a lifetime of beautiful and healthy smiles for their patients.
Dr. Monika Govoni focuses primarily on comprehensive dental care for adult patients, integrating the latest dental solutions for both treatment and prevention. Her use of advanced dental technology combined with a warm, caring atmosphere provides her patients with an approach to their dental health that is uncommon in today’s rushed world.
Dr. Govoni continues to attend advanced continuing education courses, concentrating on cosmetic and preventive dentistry. Dr. Robert Govoni, DDS
Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Robert Govoni started his education at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. After graduation, he attended the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He continued his education with two additional years of training in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. Govoni is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
In addition to practicing in Chicago, Dr. Govoni also associates in a pediatric dental office in Naperville. Currently he has medical staff privileges at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Dr. Govoni is an active member in the community by sponsoring local little league baseball teams. He has trained coaches in the proper management of sport related dental injuries and also has donated emergency dental kits. In addition, he is a speaker and dental educator at local preschools and elementary schools where he discusses the importance of good oral habits with children to promote their healthy future.
He currently resides in the Roscoe Village area of Chicago with his wife, Dr. Monika Govoni who is our general and cosmetic dentist. The couple have three children, Jenna, Alex, and Emilie.

Dr. Marty Verbic, DDS, MS
Orthodontist
Dr. Verbic was born and raised in Dekalb, Il. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and recieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with Distinction in 1999. After working for several years as a research engineer in the aerospace industry and petroleum industry, Dr. Verbic went back to school and recieved a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. During this time at the College of Dentistry, Dr. Verbic was honored to recieve the David C. Shapiro Award and the Outstanding Senior Student Award from the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) and the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) respectively. These are the highest awards for academic excellence conferred upon a student by both the ISDS and CDS. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Verbic attended a three year residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and recieved a specialty certificate in Orthodontist and a Master's Degree in Oral Science.
Dr. Verbic treats patients of all ages and has a special interest in adult interdisciplinary treatment. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, Illinois State Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society.
Dr. Verbic currently resides in the West Loop. Aside from Orthodontist, his interests include performances at the Lyric Opera, hiking, travel, and landscape photography. He is also an avid Bears, Bulls, and White Sox fan.
